Five redesigns of squaredmma.com

The same new site, built five times in five different styles. Every version has the same pages, facts, and free-class booking form. Only the look changes.

What is better than squaredmma.com

These changes are in all five versions. The numbers come from the home page, in phone view.

Measured once on 6 November 2026, phone size screen, fast connection, from one computer. Slower phones and networks will show larger times, but the gap stays.

  1. One clear offer, on the first screen

Every version opens with "your first class is free" and a booking button. The current first screen says "Reach your full potential" and does not name the offer.

  2. Booking in two short steps

Pick a program, then give a name, phone, and email. On phones the form slides up from the bottom. It also works when JavaScript is off.

  3. No lost leads

Every request is saved in a Cloudflare database. A Cloudflare bot check, a hidden spam trap, and a limit on repeat posts keep spam out.

  4. The head coach comes first

Gabriel Gonzaga's record (5th-degree BJJ black belt, 2x world champion, former UFC heavyweight title contender) is on the first screen. Each coach has a page. People in the US search his name about 400 times a month.

  5. Made for phones first

A Call and Free class bar stays at the bottom of the screen. A live line shows if the gym is open now, from the real class hours. Text is large enough to read without zoom.

  6. Built to be found in search

Each of the 5 programs has its own page, aimed at the words people search for. Today the No-Gi page is what Google shows for "bjj leominster ma". Each page has one main heading (the current home page repeats it twice), gym and coach data for Google, and a sitemap. 8 articles answer popular BJJ questions that few gyms compete for.

  7. Old links keep working

39 redirect rules send the current site's addresses to the matching new pages, so links from Google, Facebook, and directories do not break.

  8. Fast and easy to keep up

The pages are plain files served from Cloudflare's network, close to each visitor. There is no WordPress or plugins to update.

Search figures: Ahrefs and DataForSEO, November 2026. Today squaredmma.com shows up for 3 search terms and gets about 4 visits a month from search. The new versions are hidden from search until one of them moves to squaredmma.com.

The five designs

Each one is a full, working site. Open it on your phone too: every design was made for phones first.

Design 1 on a computer: dark page, photo of a jiu-jitsu roll, headline Train with a UFC veteran, and a Book your free class panel
01

Fight Gym

Dark and bold, like the gym after dark.

A near-black page with one strong red for every button. A strip of red and black mat tiles flips in as you scroll. Programs are a big list with photos, not a grid of boxes. A deep red band puts the coaches' records up front, and the booking panel sits right next to the headline.

Best for: adults who already watch MMA or train.

Design 2 on a computer: white page, headline Martial arts your whole family can start, rounded photos of kids class, and a Who's training switch
02

Family Bright

The gym a parent trusts at first look.

Bright, calm, and led by photos. A "Who's training? My child / Me" switch shows the right programs first. One tab per program swaps in a photo, who it is for, what a class looks like, and the ages. Rounded shapes and soft colors keep it friendly, not childish.

Best for: parents looking for kids classes.

Design 3 on a computer: full red page like a fight poster, headline Your first class is free, black and white photo, and a ticket that says Free class
03

Fight Night Poster

The site is a fight-night poster on a wall.

The whole page is red, with heavy block capitals. Programs are listed like a fight card, with ages shown like weight classes, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as the main event. The coaches get a "tale of the tape" side by side. The free class is an "admit one" ticket.

Best for: standing out and local pride.

Open design 3 squared-3.hork.io
Design 4 on a computer: light gray page, headline Five programs, one free first class, and a stack of five colored belts, one per program
04

Belt System

Progress you can see. Every program has a belt color.

Kids is the white belt, BJJ blue, No-Gi purple, MMA black, and Women's Kickboxing red. The home page is a stack of belts: tap one to book that class. A three-question "Find your belt" picker suggests the right program. Flat, light, and organized for quick comparing.

Best for: people who compare options before they choose.

Open design 4 squared-4.hork.io
Design 5 on a computer: a full-screen photo of a jiu-jitsu pass with a chapter counter 01 of 06 and the title Your first class is free
05

Cinematic

A short film about the gym.

Six full-screen photo chapters, with a counter ("01 / 06") and short lines like film subtitles. Each photo slowly zooms as you scroll. Programs sit on a film strip you swipe sideways. One red "Book a free class" button floats at the bottom of the screen.

Best for: showing the real feel of the gym.
